Here at LFC Talk, we have been operating a small forum for Liverpool supporters for the last few months – and we would like to expand them.

We are looking for people to join the forum to help get more activity and discussion going – and we will be looking for some dedicated and trusty moderators also!

Once the forums reach a certain level, we will need people to maintain them with us.

If you think you could take on that role, why not signup now and start discussion and debating with fellow Reds!?

Thanks,

Former Danish international Michael Laudrup has urged compatriot Daniel Agger to leave Anfield to find regular first-team football.

“I hope Daniel can come to a club where he can play regularly,” he informed BT.

“First and foremost, for himself, but also for the national team, which very much needs Daniel to play.”

“Daniel has ended up an in annoying situation. But the competition in clubs of that level is fierce.”

Rafael Benitez has told Liverpoolfc.tv that he thinks Real Madrid have improved since the draw for the last sixteen of the Champions League was made.

“I knew it could be difficult when the draw took place because they were a good team – and now they have improved from two months ago.” said the Spaniard.

“Juande Ramos is doing well. They are winning games in a row and so have more confidence.”

“Defensively they have improved. Some players who were injured are back. Signing Lassana Diarra means they have two midfielders who can defend more, so they are more solid.”

Arjen Robben has told AS that Liverpool don’t play good enough football to overcome Real Madrid in their last sixteen encounter of the Champions League.

“I have a lot of desire to beat Liverpool. They are a very strong side but when I was Chelsea, I did not like playing against them. I prefer to play Manchester United or Arsenal, because Liverpool are not a team who know how to play good football. They are very physical, they work and run a lot and they are tactically very well prepared.”

“Madrid are now in the best form of the season, but we must be relaxed as there’s already too much talk of this game.”

“I don’t think it will be a problem to play the return leg at Anfield because a lot will depend on the first leg. It is imperative to win here [at the Bernabeu] and avoid conceding any goals so that we don’t suffer there.”

When asked whether Liverpool were a one man team when Steven Gerrard plays, Robben said:

“[Gerrard] is one of the best midfielders in the world, perhaps the best in the Premier League. He has been at Anfield all his career and in that sense, he is similar to Raul. Neither have ever played for any other club.”

“But Liverpool are not a one-man team. They have other quality players like Xabi Alonso, who I like a lot, and Fernando Torres, who can score at any given moment.”

“The truth is that it doesn’t matter whether or not Gerrard plays because we only rely on ourselves to progress to the next round.”

Heinze warns Reds by lfctalk

Real Madrid defender Gabriel Heinze has spoken of his determination to get one over his international captain, Javier Mascherano, as Real Madrid take on Liverpool this week.

“I spoke with Mascherano the other day and he is optimistic about the game. He says that we should be preparing ourselves, but I believe that is wrong. We are going to win at the Bernabeu.”

“I think we are playing Liverpool at just the right time, but we know it is not going to be easy. We have got to try and make our home advantage count and have to mount pressure on the Liverpool goal from the first minute.”

“In this type of game we have to exploit all the options that we have because they will do the same thing at Anfield in the second leg.”

“For me this is an important game because I have played for an English team and I want to get a victory. I am happy at Madrid and my dream is to send Liverpool out of the competition.”

Heinze has spoken of the threat that Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt provide to his team, but he is confident they can overcome them.

“To face players such as Torres and Kuyt is not easy, but we will try and identify their weak points and hopefully they will not feel comfortable in this country.” said the ex-Man Utd defender.

“There is no denying that Torres is one of the best strikers in the world, but we would be making a big mistake if we just focus on him because Liverpool have 11 dangerous players.”

Jerzy Dudek has warned his Real Madrid colleagues that Liverpool are not a one-man team.

“Torres has great speed and is a player who can make a difference. But I think it would be a mistake to choose only one Liverpool player who can be dangerous,” said the Polish keeper.

“Pepe Reina is an excellent goalkeeper, while in defence Jamie Carragher has great quality in the air. Gerrard and Xabi Alonso play with a great tempo in midfield, and this forms a superb spine to their team.”
