The People are claiming that Roy Hodgson is still interested in signing West Ham’s Carlton Cole and is also eyeing up a move for ex-Manchester United striker Diego Forlan.

The reports claims that Hodgson has earmarked £30m for a double swoop in January’s mid-season transfer window on the two frontmen to add support for Fernando Torres upfront.

Carlton Cole came close to joining Liverpool in the Summer, but a deadline day swoop was put off due to tight deadlines and West Ham being unwilling to budge on a price with no replacement lined up. The England striker has struggled to fit into Avram Grant’s teams this season as the Hammers prop up the table.

Forlan has been in exceptional goalscoring form since leaving United for Spain and continued his La Liga form into the World Cup, where he almost single-handedly took Uruguay to the final.

Forlan… Definately! ! He would be the ultimate partner for torres.. There’s going to be a lot of teams commiting suicide just to get his signature and I say Hodgson should do everything to get him to Liverpool.. He truly is an unbelievable striker.. Not only is he exceptional at hitting the target, he gets back and defends when is needed to and on a scale of 1 to 10.. He hits the 10 spot without hesitation..

As for Carlton Cole hmmm I don’t think thats a move that would benefit us. My personal opinion (and i’m sure most soccer fanatics that watched the world cup) would be someone like Keisuke Honda.. He has the skill of any top midfielder .. Pace to run at defenders and a golden touch when it comes to free kicks and scoring goals..

As for our midfield.. Players like Poulson, Lucas Leiva, and Ryan Babel should be out.. We need players like Shaun Wright Phillips, a David Bentley and Steven Pienaar.. Those are the type of players that can be trusted with holding the ball, making those thru ball passes that turn defence into attack and can let Gerrard roam free..
As for our defence.. I.d like to see more of Fabio Aurelio.. He is certainly liverpool material and he has proven his worth over the years.. Don’t get me wrong.. Konchesky is brilliant too.. But instead of having 3 right footed defenders.. Liverpool could do with a change there..

Lastly our style of playing really disappoints me.. In most games i’ve noticed Liverpool starting off with no real hunger for the game.. Especially in home games where i feel it would be better to start with a steady first team that will go for it all out during the first half and get those goals that will allow us to play off the 2nd half without any pressure.. By doing that, we can almost guarantee 3points in every game and can be free to send out our subs to see off the second half and maybe grab an extra goal or 2. This story of rotating the line up doesn’t benefit the team in any way. I’m really looking forward to the january transfer window.. Its whats going to make or break Liverpool. If only Hodgson could read this comment of mine i’m sure it would open up his eyes. Fans deserve to be heard too.

Forlan is good but may be passing his prime, hope he will not be another keane. We need someone who wont be too expensive and at the same time who brings a different dimention to the game. Fernando llorente will be the best solution , about 25,26 of age. have the hunger for goal , emmense physical presence like drogba .and has the run too… he will be the best bet for liverpool ..BUT most of all liverpool need to play two genuene forwards up front. you cannot expect torres to run up all the length of the field just to receive long balls hit by full backs , we need someone to hold the ball up the field in the rival’s goal, so far liverpool is lacking just these facts.. BUT LIVERPOOL SHOULD GO FOR LLORENTE. And ROY is only interested in england player , he should get this thought out too
