Liverpool have been linked with moves for two African World Cup stars.

According to http://www.givemefootball.com, the Reds have enquired about Ghana’s powerful forward Asamoah Gyan of French side Rennes.

The 24 year old striker was in good form for his country, scoring three times for the Black Stars. But despite only fourteen goals in two seasons for Rennes, his pricetag is a reported £20m – which may put off potential suitors.

Meanwhile, Betfair are suggesting that Marseille’s Taye Taiwo is set to replace Fiorentina bound Emiliano Insua at left-back. An £8m pricetag has been mooted for the player set to seal the move ahead of Wigan’s Maynor Figueroa, who had been linked.
