The Mirror are reporting that Rafael Benitez has made a £15million take-it-or-leave-it offer for David Silva.

The Spanish boss has warned Valencia that he will walk away from any deal if they try to turn it into a bidding war between The Reds and other interested clubs.

Secret talks were revealed in March by a leak at the Mestalla – much to Benitez’s annoyance – which saw the former Valencia boss claim any deal was dead, but these talks are said to be continuing quietly.

But Benitez is becoming more and more wary of Valencia’s desire to hike up the price by talking to other suitors for the Euro 2008 winner.

The Spanish club are neck deep in debt and may be forced into selling their star performers, with Benitez said to be monitoring Raul Albiol and David Villa also.

sILVA IS BEST PLAYER BUT WE NEED PLAYERS WITH PHYSICAL CAPACITY. I DO NOT THINK HE CAN PERFORM AS EXPECTED IN PLEMIERSHIP.HE LACKS ENERGY. AS BIGGEST TEAM, LIVERPOOL NEEDS WINGER THAT COULD SCORE BOTH IN FEET AND HEAD.

I think Silva would be an excellent signing.

Riera has done well, but this guy is another couple of steps up.
