LaRoma24.it is claiming that AS Roma have entered the race to sign Brazilian striker Keirrison from Palmeiras.

Keirrison’s contract situation has been a sticking point so far with Coritiba FC holding a 20% stake in the player while Brazilian agency Traffic Sports own 80%.

Palmeiras Vice President Gilberto Cipullo has spoken of the youngsters quick development

“Our coach, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, has told me that he has a project revolving around Keirrison,” Cipullo was quoted.

“His plan is to make Keirrison the best football player in Brazil and he clearly has the qualities to realise this ambition. We will do our best to achieve this target and, consequently, cash in on the player.”

“We received offers of around €15 million during last summer’s transfer window, but, instead of selling him now, we will keep hold of him until next year. We will get up to €35m out of his sale.”

Keirrison scored 54 goals in 100 appearances for Coritiba and has gone on to score eight in six for Palmeiras.
