The Daily Mail are reporting that Juventus and Inter Milan have joined AC Milan in the race to prise Daniel Agger from Anfield.

AC Milan wanted to sign the defender in January and have held informal discussion about taking him to Italy for next season.

Agger’s agent Per Steffensen has reportedly been in discussions with top AC Milan officials – which has alerted Juventus and Inter Milan to his possible availability.

All three of the top Italian sides are hoping to snare a top centre-back on the cheap, and with just 18 months left on his deal, the 24 year old appears the best option.

Agger has recently revealed his frustration at missing out on several first-team matches and appears edging closer to the Anfield exit.

“Let’s be honest, if I’m not playing, the position is untenable, and it cannot go on like that,” he said.

“It is never nice for a footballer not to be playing regularly. That is something I will not hide, and the fact is, he (Benitez) does not want to let me play.”

“I feel I am good enough to be playing, so it irritates me when I don’t. I am waiting for the chance to play a number of matches and show that I am good enough.”
