City and Spurs to move for Keane? by lfctalk

Everton, Manchester City and Tottenham are being linked with moves for Robbie Keane in the Liverpool Daily Post.

Any move David Moyes makes is unlikely to be successful given the rivalry between the two clubs, however. Liverpool’s management are unlikely to allow such a high-profile signing leave for Goodison Park so soon after his arrival. Moyes would need to break the Everton pay structure to bring Keane in also.

Tottenham and Manchester City appear liklier destinations for the Anfield flop, with each looking to strengthen their forward options.

City are yet to make any enquiry for the £20m man, but officials are insistent that their interest is genuine. While Harry Redknapp has publicly stated that he would welcome Keane back to White Hart Lane.

He said: “I wouldn’t sit here and say I wouldn’t like to have Robbie Keane at my football club, I’d be a liar, but he belongs to Liverpool so it is not an option unfortunately.”

“As a player and a person I have a lot of time for Robbie Keane. I think he’s fantastic.”

Any move would need to be made sooner rather than later if it’s to be completed this month, with the deadline looming next Monday.
