Manchester City’s new billionaire owner, Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, plans to shake-up the big four in the Premiership – starting with January bids for Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas and Fernando Torres.

Al-Fahim has intimated that Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ADUG) could back a £135million bid for United ace Ronaldo.

The agreement of the ADUG takeover from Thaksin Shinawatra was announced on Monday and they signalled their intentions with the £32.5m signing of Brazilian Robinho from Real Madrid.

Chief executive of Hydra Properties, Al-Fahim said to be up to ten times wealthier than Chelsea’s Roman Abramovich and is reported to be planning on buying “18 or so” of the best players in the world.

“Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious,” Al-Fahim said in The Guardian.

“Real Madrid were estimating his value at $160million (£90m) but for a player like that, to actually get him, will cost a lot more; I would think $240million (£135m). But why not? We are going to be the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United.”

Al-Fahim added: “We want a team who can win the UEFA Champions League. We’re not just going to spend money on anyone, but if we can get the biggest players in the world, and of course if the manager wants them, then we will get them.”

Anil Bhoyrul, the Editorial Director of ArabianBusiness.com and persona friend of Al-Fahim told TalkSPORT: “I have a list of the players Dr Sulaiman wants to go out and bid for. One is Ronaldo. He says he doesn’t have a problem tabling a £120million bid, just to do it and see what the reaction is. His tactic is to say to Manchester United and Chelsea, “Hey, we’re in town.” He also rates Torres and Fabregas. With Ronaldo, he thinks they are the three best players in the world.”

Whether he can prise Torres away from Anfield remains to be seen, but his impact at City is likely to put our top four place under it’s biggest threat yet.

Beginning of the end of football as we know it. it was getting pretty bad with Chelsea and Man U. but the money their talking about is obscene. Congrats to City Fans, who will know doubt be strutting proudly collecting trophy’s in the not to distant future. This may push Sir Alex to finally retire. There will be some push back eventually whether it’s salary caps or number of English players required on every squad, but both will fail because money rules. I wish my team was bought by Abu Dhabi. Either way Gooners will always compete and play great football.

Liverpool and Arsenal are both in danger of being dropped out of the top four by City, now that they have so much money.

They are an even richer version of Chelsea and will be able to buy as much success.
