Ukrainian forward Andrei Voronin is rumoured to be considering his position with the club.

The striker is quoted as saying: “It looks as if there will be no honest competition for my position.”

If these comments are accurate, it may come as a reaction to the forward being booed by sections of the Anfield crowd at the recent Lazio friendly fixture. Voronin scored an injury-time winner that evening and turned to ‘shush’ the booing fans immediately.

Voronin has also talked down the quality of life in England before and may be looking for a return to Germany, the country he lived in for over a decade before moving to Anfield in the Summer of 2007. And several Bundesliga clubs would be willing to facilitate his return to the country that his reputation remains strong in.

The news of a potential departure will not disappoint many Reds supporters after the ponytailed player had a relatively poor debut season at the club.
