Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that he turned down a move to Liverpool and was not in negotiations with Bayern Munich.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said that he rejected Liverpool for Spurs – most likely for the chance to appear in the Champions League this season.
“Bayern were not interested, but Liverpool were interested,” he said.
“In the end you have to have a good feeling, and with Harry Redknapp I got a good feeling.”
“I am happy I am going to Spurs. I am going to give it my best and hopefully I will play a lot of games and be important for the team.”

Jamie Carragher has praised the work done by Roy Hodgson in the transfer market this Summer.
Joe Cole, Paul Konchesky, Raul Meireles, Brad Jones and Christian Poulsen are the main arrivals in a busy Summer at the club and vice-captain Carragher is pleased with the new faces.
“I think he has done very well but time will tell. You have to judge signings after Christmas – good or bad,” he said.
“We’ve started quite nicely and hopefully the couple of players we have brought in late on will help.”
“Everyone realised we needed a left-back so Konchesky came in and Raul Meireles coming in is something we can all look forward to.”
“Maybe he can replace the Xabi Alonso/Aquilani-type of player, so I think it is looking okay.”

Dirk Kuyt faces a spell of weeks on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during training for Holland’s upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier against Finland.
Dutch boss Bert van Marwijk says that Kuyt has “strained and possibly torn ligaments in his shoulder” after falling awkwardly at the ADO Den Hague stadium. “I think he might be out for a few weeks,” he added.
Kuyt will return to Liverpool for further analysis from the Melwood medical team.
It seems likely that Kuyt will not be available for matches at Birmingham and Manchester United, as well as the Europa League fixture against Steaua Bucharest.
