Reports this week have claimed that Scott Parker is holding off signing a new deal at West Ham in the hope that Liverpool will make a bid for the England midfielder.

According to the reports, Roy Hodgson has been keeping a close eye on Parker since arriving at Anfield and will make a move once Javier Mascherano has sealed a protracted exit from the club.

Tottenham are also hoping to sign Parker, but he is said to prefer the chance to link up with Steven Gerrard in the Liverpool midfield.
