Rafael Benitez has moved quickly to end speculation that Frenchman Franck Ribery is set to move to Anfield from Bayern Munich.

Odds on the player moving to Merseyside plummeted on Friday after a spate of bets were placed on the transfer going ahead.

“I don’t think we will be signing anyone else for big, big money – just maybe the ones who can fit into our team.” he said.
