Liverpool have today announced two new additions to their backroom team at Melwood.
Eduardo Parra Garcia will join as Fitness Coach, with rehabilitation work his main attribute, after deciding to leave his position with Celta Vigo to take up the offer of a new challenge at Melwood.
“It’s a dream come true for me to come and work with Rafa Benitez and the backroom staff at Liverpool FC,” he told Liverpoolfc.tv.
“I know all about Liverpool, the history, the passion of its amazing fans and of course the quality of its great players. I am really excited about working here.”
Ivan Ortega is also moving to Melwood from Spain and will take up a position within the medical team as a Sports Therapist. He was previously physio at Celta Vigo.
“I am thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to work in such a fantastic Club. Everyone knows Liverpool in Spain and around the world,” he said.
“Although it’s a new country and a new environment for me, I can’t wait to get started.”

Barcelona are reported to be preparing a £25m bid for Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano.
The European champions have made it very clear that they see the diminutive midfielder as the perfect partner for Xavi and Andres Iniesta in their side.
The Mirror are claiming that Barcelona will offer Mascherano £80,000 a week, and the player’s agent, Walter Tamer, has previously claimed he would be interested in a move to the Nou Camp.
Losing Mascherano would be major headache for Rafael Benitez, especially as Xabi Alonso looks increasingly likely to return to Spain with Real Madrid sooner rather than later.
The financial situation at Anfield could see Benitez forced into selling not one but both of his midfield duo – which would leave him desperately searching the market for replacements having already missed out on Gareth Barry.

Liverpool have lined up Udinese playmaker Gaetano D’Agostino as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, according to The Daily Mail.
Spanish reports are claiming that Real Madrid are moving very close to completing a double deal for Alonso and fellow Spaniard Alvaro Arbeloa.
Udinese are prepared to sell either D’Agostino or reported Manchester United target Alexis Sanchez if bidding tops the £17million mark.
27 year old Alonso is said to have his heart set on a move back to Spain with Real Madrid – and Rafael Benitez also faces an uphill battle to keep hold of Javier Mascherano, with Barcelona readying a bid.
Benitez is happy to cash in on Arbeloa, who only has a year left on his contract with Glen Johnson already signed to replace the right-back.
Juventus also want D’Agostino, who made his Italy debut against Northern Ireland last month, but have not been able to meet the asking price.
The 27-year-old is keen to move to Juve, but Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has is becoming increasingly frustrated by negotiations.
“The deal must be resolved one way or another. If it isn’t completed by July 6 then it is destined to collapse.” he told Sky Italia.
“In my opinion, Juve have underestimated the value of the player. They don’t think he is the champion he actually is, and we’ll prove them wrong next season. He is worth all the money we are demanding.”
Sportsmail claim Udinese are seeking a similar figure for 20-year-old Chile forward Sanchez, whose agent has been in informal talks with Manchester United over a move to the Premiership champions.
